“We’re a test and measure company,” Boyce said. “We test everything. We do a lot of analytics. ”That testing extends to almost every aspect of the company, from sales and marketing including how to handle in bound calls and its sales pitch to product offerings and customer service. That approach “assures we never under protect a family or never oversell a system people don’t need,” he said. While the future is bright, Boyce admitted Defenders’ 20 percent year over year growth rate could be difficult to maintain. “That’s not because the business isn’t healthy; it’s just that the number gets so big,” he said. He’s confident Defenders will continue to grow faster than the industry average. To meet growing demand, Defenders—which has 2,840 employees overall, including nearly 900 in Indiana—has doubled its number of installers and at home consultants in the last year to 1,755, Boyce said. The sky is falling?Defenders exclusively uses equipment made by ADT Inc. And ADT provides the monitoring service for all Defenders customers, who typically pay $99 to $700 for installation, depending on home size and product choices.

If you’re well versed in current technology trends and appreciate the involvement of your smartphone and touchscreen devices for your home, you’re in luck. Brinks Home Security is incredibly tech oriented and partners with the Nest brand for low maintenance, sleek tech options in the most basic Brinks package called “Nest Secure. ” These kinds of home automation features, which correlate with customer satisfaction according to J. home security systems austin

When we’re in the bedroom between the white noise machine in the central air system we would never be able to hear anything happening on the first/ground floor. We’re looking for an economical, DIY security system with a loud alarm/siren to alert us when were sleeping And to alert us if there is an intruder when we’re not home. We’d love your input/ recommendations!Would also love your thoughts/advice on self monitoring vs using a security company to monitor. Many thanks!KelliHi Kelli, You’re very welcome and thanks for reading! There are a bunch of different companies that have sirens I recommend SimpliSafe. However, if you self monitor with SimpliSafe, you won’t be able to control your system remotely, livestream footage, or receive notifications. 24/7 professional monitoring would be better for a family where all adults work full time and wouldn’t have time to contact emergency services if an alarm goes off. However, if you have someone that stays at home, self monitoring should be fine. Ring Alarm also has a siren and you can self monitor and still control your system remotely and all that jazz, plus professional monitoring is super affordable. I’d check out this review of Ring vs. Simplisafe and let me know if you have any other questions! If you don’t buy the equipment outright, Vivint requires either a four or five year contract — a long time to commit, especially given that you only have three days from the date of install to cancel. Afterwards, you’ll have to pay out the remainder of your contract.
